Daniel Blaker
Creative Director, Nulty
Daniel Blaker is one of Nulty’s most experienced lighting designers and has been with the practice for over 12 years. As Creative Director, he oversees the design process and is responsible for inspiring the team to push boundaries and deliver great work for clients.
His product design background informs his thinking, and he is always looking for innovative ways to integrate light into architecture. He particularly enjoys exploring the way that light is controlled and its ability to reveal or manipulate a space.
Throughout his career at Nulty, Dan has designed lighting schemes for world-leading brands, including Selfridges, Galeries Lafayette, Harrods, the Design Museum, and The Ned. Other notable projects include Newnham College at the University of Cambridge, Keflavik Airport in Iceland, Leake Street Arches in London, and the Home of Carlsberg in Copenhagen.
Dan firmly believes that growth comes from within. He plays a leading role in developing the Nulty team and works closely with designers to review and refine the practice’s creative thinking, design processes, and sustainability principles.
