Lorena Espaillat Bencosme
Senior Design Analyst, Zaha Hadid Architects
Lorena joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 2018 and is currently a Senior Design Analyst at ZHA’s Analytics and Insights group, where she specializes in spatial design using parametric principles and data-driven design processes. Lorena’s research lies in understanding the impact of physical spaces and social phenomena on user behaviour, with particular focus on office spaces, and the effect of spatial configuration on organisational culture. Since joining Zaha Hadid Architects, Lorena has been developing workplace strategies and spatial design optimisations with a distinctive approach based on in-house development and testing of analytic methods and tools to assess and predict workspace performance. She has been involved in a wide variety of international projects in Europe, Asia, Middle East, America, and Australia, notably offices, education, and retail. Key projects include the OPPO Headquarters in Shenzhen, the CECEP Headquarters in Shanghai, and Unicorn Island in Chengdu, China. Lorena holds a degree in Architecture and a Master of Science in Space Syntax from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. Lorena is an architectural practitioner with professional experience in the Dominican Republic and the United Kingdom.
