Carolina brings over 20 years of experience in multidisciplinary consultancies and specialized lighting design practices. Her expertise span across many areas of the construction industry from developing large-scale urban lighting masterplans for entire regions to implementing innovative daylighting and electric lighting designs for both interior and exterior spaces. Her work focuses on enhancing wellbeing, energy efficiency, and placemaking in urban environments. In her role as Associate Lecturer for the MSc Light and Lighting at UCL, Carolina integrates her extensive project experience with mentoring, emphasising how lighting profoundly impacts people’s lives. She is particularly passionate about addressing issues related to light pollution, sensory overstimulation and visual comfort, with a focus on creating inclusive designs for individuals who are hypersensitive to light.
