Ana Rita Martins
Senior Associate, Sustainability & Design at Woodalls
Ana Rita Barreira Martins joined Woodalls to develop construction practices, based on the ESG (Environmental Social Governance) methodology, for sustainable and wellbeing design.
Convinced that environmental and social sustainability must be at the heart of all architecture, Ana Rita aims to incorporate these type of solutions in projects and office works, while cementing these practices in her own company. She is regularly requested as a speaker for industry events and roundtables.
As an architect registered in England and Portugal, Ana Rita has been working in London for almost seven years, and participates in various research and debate groups, such as the Sustainable Design Collective, UK Interior Design Declares among others.
Before joining Woodalls, Ana Rita worked for an architecture and interior design studio, where she coordinated several projects in the United Kingdom and in other European countries using various environmental, social or health certification systems, such as the BREEAM, LEED, or WELL.
Currently, she collaborates in the development of the future reference framework (roadmap) for the reduction of your company’s carbon footprint; in the annual corporate audit ISO 14001 (Corporate Environmental Performance); and in obtaining, for this year, the “Considerate Constructors Scheme” and EcoVadis Silver certification.
At the same time, Ana Rita has collaborated and helped young students in different school initiatives, in the editing and enrichment of theses, and even in the development of software for a startup, believing that everyone should collaborate in the radical change of the industry.
